Partially sheltered on a slope on Herring Island, a sculpture park situated on the Yarra River. Secrets Pavilion is an interactive, multi-sensory pavilion designed to accommodate an abstract brief, specifying ‘a listening room for 5, a time capsule that would open in 200 years, and shelter for 20 people.

The design is centred around a red funnel, inspired by the fungi found on the island, which provides shelter to guests on the upper ground level, and redirects rain water into the subterranean listening room. Below the funnel is the time capsule, a rock, designed to erode in 200 years time and reveal the secrets within.
